Chiltern League - Under 125's

Oxon Team C played against Hampshire at home on 6th March. 
Oxon won the match 7.5 - 4.5
This was Hampshire C's first defeat of the season. 
After three matches played, Oxon finish in first place 
with 2.5 points and will play against Hants again
in the Final on 27th March, to determine the eventual winner
of Division 3. Bucks will play Berks again to determine 
third and fourth positions.

Buckinghamshire Vs Oxforshire under 150 result.

Our Oxfordshire under grade 150 team lost their Chiltern league away
match against Buckinghamshire by 9 games to 7 at Holmer Green on
Saturday 27th February.  
It was a very close match with just half of the games being drawn. 
The result was in doubt until the last game finished, but unfortunately
Rod Langham was unable to save his game after a long hard fight.  
It was an interesting afternoon and I think everyone enjoyed the match.

Submitting Results

I've now widened the permissions for results submission. In addition to the managers of the teams involved, the person (typically the club secretary) listed as the 'contact' on the clubs page can submit, amend and confirm league and cup results for any of that club's teams, as can the owner of the club's entry on the clubs page.

This extension meant several changes to the most complicated programming on the website. Although the new code seems to be working OK, please let me know if anything goes wrong: particularly with the Cup (Frank Wood Shield) because that's harder to test fully.

Oxfordshire Vs Berks under 150 result.

The Oxfordshire under grade 150 team won their home match 
against Berkshire by 11 games to 5 at Magdalen College 
School on 13th February. The match was played in a friendly 
atmosphere and there were some very interesting games.

RODNEY HOUSE CLUB BICESTER CLOSED

The Civil Service and Ministry of Defence Sports councils have 
withdrawn all support and funding for the Rodney House Civil Service
 Club and it is therefore to close on Sunday January 31 2010. The
 argument is that there is now insufficient civil servants in Bicester 
to justify the expense.

So the chess club has had to find a new home which we have done at 
Bicester Bowls Club. Full directions to the club are now on the OCA 
website entry for the now retitled "Bicester Chess Club". It will also
 be on the Bicester Chess Club website www.freewebs.com/bicesterchess.

Postponed under grade 150 match.

The under grade150 match between Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire which was postponed form 9th January due to the weather has now been rearranged for February 27th.
